Andrés R Lorán Butrón

An accomplished academic and entrepreneur with over fifteen years of experience in the educational service industry, encompassing roles as a faculty member and in various administrative capacities. Holds a distinguished academic background in Mechanical and Management Engineering, with a specialization in innovation systems, entrepreneurship, and business incubator management.

Currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering at Universidad Ana G. Méndez, focusing on courses related to Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Earned a doctoral degree in Engineering Management from The George Washington University, where research concentrated on the effects of entrepreneurship programs on enterprise performance.

Presently, is the Program Director for the Programa Regional de Apoyo al Empresario (PRAE), which offers resources and training to support business growth, and the Director of Learning & Development for the Red Empresarial de Innovación (REDI Business Incubator), one of the largest business incubators in Puerto Rico.

Additionally, was the Associate Director of the International Design Center (CID), providing services to enhance innovation and competitiveness and assisting in developing new start-up opportunities.

In addition to an academic career, is a seasoned entrepreneur, leading a successful venture in the product design industry and actively participating in the leadership of two nonprofit organizations. One of these organizations is funded by federal grants, while the other operates at an international level.

Also an active Board Member at ORIA LLC and Exinetwork, and provides consultancy services to several new ventures in Puerto Rico. Holds a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ana G. Méndez University School of Engineering.
