Alphonse Nafack

Winner of the prestigious "Best Banker of Central Africa" award at the 3rd edition of the Financial Afrik Awards in 2020, Alphonse Nafack is one of the most renowned figures in the financial landscape of Cameroon and Africa. He served as CEO of Afriland First Bank, the leading banking institution in Cameroon, from 2012 to 2022, and was the President of the Professional Association of Banks in Cameroon from 2015 to 2022. With over 40 years of experience as a seasoned banker, his expertise has earned him the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors in several other Cameroonian companies, as well as serving until 2022 as a board member of the former GICAM, the first employers' association of Cameroon. 

Alongside his successful professional career, education, training, and skills development in his home country of Cameroon have been at the core of his personal projects. For the past 25 years, he has been investing in the education sector, continuously bringing innovative and disruptive solutions to the existing ecosystem: in 1999, he founded and opened the very first bilingual primary and nursery school in Cameroon, followed ten years later by the opening of a bilingual secondary school. In his pursuit of transforming the educational landscape in Cameroon, he founded the Jacky Felly Nafack Institute of Technology in 2020 (now Jacky Felly Nafack Hightech University Institute – in short JFN HUI), a massive and futuristic higher education institution focused on professional training, and the first Private Higher Education Institute in Cameroon dedicated to digital, technological, entrepreneurial, and managerial education. Elevated to the rank of Grand Officer of the National Order of Merit by the President of Cameroon, H.E. Paul Biya, his professional career, his deep understanding of the business world, his investment in education, and his entrepreneurial commitment earned him this high national honour. 

Alphonse Nafack undoubtedly belongs to the class of impactful entrepreneurs who fight against unemployment and the disintegration of the economic and social system. This commitment led to his appointment by the Cameroonian government in 2023 as President of the Competitive Skills Development Mechanism of Cameroon. Today, he wants to share his entrepreneurial spirit and experience on a larger scale through the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Cameroon, where he was appointed president in September 2024. Still serving as a board member of Afriland First Bank, Alphonse Nafack continues to lead JFN Group with a great passion and a visionary spirit.
