Aminata is a distinguished African development leader, entrepreneur, and civil society mobilizer whose work spans public–private partnerships, women and youth empowerment, human capital development, and enterprise innovation across Africa. With over 15 years of experience designing, implementing, and managing transformative programs, she stands as a symbol of Pan-African leadership, gender equity, and entrepreneurial resilience.
Her career reflects a rare blend of strategic insight, operational excellence, and cross-sectoral experience in mobilizing communities, advocating policy change, and building ecosystems that enable African entrepreneurs , particularly women and youth; to thrive. Aminata’s professional journey demonstrates a consistent commitment to creating pathways for inclusive development, sustainable entrepreneurship, and gender-responsive economic growth.
Known for her dynamic communication skills, sharp analytical mind, and people-centered leadership, she has worked across multiple African countries and global platforms to shape conversations and policies around social inclusion, innovation, and women’s leadership.
Aminata’s educational background demonstrates both depth and diversity, an embodiment of her commitment to intellectual rigor and lifelong learning. She holds a Master of Philosophy in African Literature and Civilization and a Master of Arts in English Language and Civilization from the prestigious University of Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal, where she also earned her Bachelor of Arts.
Her intellectual pursuits did not stop there. Recognizing the critical intersection between business and social transformation, she obtained a Postgraduate Degree in Human Resource Management from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce (Sup De Co) in Dakar and later pursued an Executive MBA at the Quantic School of Business and Technology. This ongoing program reinforces her strategic and managerial expertise in the contemporary global business landscape.
Aminata has also earned a Pearson BTEC certification in Internal Verification and Educational Standardization, and a Certificate from the African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative (AWEC), where she completed advanced coursework in cultivating entrepreneurial culture, design thinking, and brand identity.
Her multilingual ability, fluency in French, English, Wolof, and Pulaar, with proficiency in Arabic — allows her to operate seamlessly across diverse cultural and linguistic contexts, further enhancing her reach and influence across Africa and beyond.
Aminata’s professional trajectory began in the dynamic space of civil society engagement, where she has consistently used her voice and expertise to amplify social causes and strengthen institutional capacity.
From 2008 to 2014, she served as Programs Manager at AfriCASO (African Council of AIDS Service Organizations), one of the most prominent continental civil society networks addressing HIV and human rights. Her leadership of the Leadership Through Accountability (LTA) program, funded by the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+) and the West African Commission on AIDS (WAC), positioned her at the forefront of African advocacy for inclusive health systems and human rights protection.
During her tenure, she co-developed the Stigma Index Tool, a groundbreaking instrument that contributed to legislative and policy reforms, including the criminalization of HIV stigma and the protection of reproductive health rights.
Aminata also managed a Ford Foundation-funded regional project titled “Promotion of Human Rights of People Living with HIV/AIDS and Good Governance of Civil Society Organizations”, covering Central African Republic, Mali, Liberia, and Egypt. Through this project, she demonstrated a unique capacity to bridge grassroots realities with high-level policy dialogues, strengthening the institutional resilience of local civil society actors.
Her work with AfriCASO expanded into continental advocacy, where she coordinated African Civil Society input into the UN High-Level Meeting on HIV, ensuring that African voices shaped global health commitments. She also championed policy advocacy towards national governments , notably influencing the Senegalese government’s budgetary engagement in financing health systems within the Global Fund context.
Her influence in multi-stakeholder collaboration was evident when she served as the focal point in the development of a public-private partnership model for African civil society engagement, in partnership with Partenaires Contre le Sida (PCS) and the Global Fund.
These formative years shaped Aminata’s enduring belief in multi-sectoral partnerships as the most effective vehicle for systemic change.
Aminata’s transition into entrepreneurship marked the next bold chapter of her leadership journey. In November 2018, she founded Craving 4 Development (C4D) , a Pan-African social innovation enterprise dedicated to building inclusive ecosystems for entrepreneurs.
