Anamari Irizarry

ANAMARI IRIZARRY holds a post-doctoral degree in Marketing and Management from the Warrington College of Business of the University of Florida at Gainesville and a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Creole Languages from the University of Puerto Rico. She currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at the School of Business Administration, University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. She has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses focused on communication, research, storytelling, pitch, public speaking, career development, and writing skills. Her research interests are intercultural and managerial communication, communication competencies, and performing arts integrated into business soft skills. She currently provides mentorship in Storytelling and Pitch in the Center to foster Innovation and Commercialization (Centro de Apoyo a la Innovación y Comercialización).

She has provided academic service to the School through the Career Development Center (Enlace) assisting students in their job seeking skills and providing workshops on résumés and interviewing skills to the whole university community; she has also served in the School’s Assessment Committee.

Her research interests are intercultural and managerial communication, communication competencies, experiential learning, international business and performing arts integrated to business soft skills. Some research projects she has developed and worked on are Non-native Language Barriers' Effects on Intercultural Business Settings and Professional Career Performance when Using Idioms; the Power of the Body and the Word and Acting Out: The Business Manager Commands the Stage.
She has presented some of these research projects in international conferences, such as Cladea 2012, 2015, 2016; Balas 2014, 2015, 2016; ABC 2013, 2015; AIB 2014; and LASA 2019.
