Amber Roman

Amber is an outcome-orientated pragmatic leader with 20+ years experience that combines a well-rounded enterprise view of business, operations, and technology. She has worked extensively at an executive leadership level for over 10 years to drive organizational, operational, and financial change. Her work has spanned many industries: Healthcare, State Government, Higher Education, Financial Services, Software and Technology, Health and Commercial Insurance.
Since 2021, she has been President and Founder of Sensata LLC, an Illinois-based advisory and consultancy. Her national clients are often mission-driven and in the startup stage or moving to growth and scaling. Her motto is “I help make your idea real.”
She works with executives at these organizations to assess current state of operations, what the future vision is, what capabilities are needed, and then design a plan. Often, she leads the team in execution or remediates failing strategic initiatives stunting growth or the ability to scale. In addition, her experience allows her provide initial service/product design, designing and building pitch decks, pricing models, projections, fundraising, and designing a plan that will allow the executive team to build, buy, or broker capabilities to meet board requirements.
Prior to starting Sensata LLC, she worked in leadership roles at two management consulting firms, for just under a decade. At one, she led establishing a new Chicago office focused on defining the go-to-market strategy, building $800K sales pipeline, defining and implementing the local consulting practice and team. She was able to deliver $750k in revenue the first year. At the other, she designed and delivered in every part of the operations: business development, sales, marketing, account management, client delivery, while mentoring the consulting teams. In her role, she built new service offerings, product strategy and go-to-market strategies while bringing in a minimum annual revenue of $400k.
Her experience prior to consulting consisted of working directly with executive leaders on strategic initiatives as an internal consultant working all levels of organizations. Her work spanned from defining software system design, data & analytics tools, financial operations systems and processes, network infrastructures, internal/external digital communication tools, digital sales and marketing processes, and human resources.
