Annie Wayda

Annie Wayda is the Managing Director at Charmides Capital, a single family office based in Carmel, IN, focused on investing in early-stage tech startups. In her role, Annie oversees day-to-day operations, including sourcing deal flow, building ecosystem relationships, and managing the firm’s portfolio.

Annie brings a unique perspective to early-stage investing, informed by her own entrepreneurial journey that began in Chicago in 2018. As the founder of a business in early childhood education, she gained firsthand experience navigating the challenges and opportunities faced by entrepreneurs. This background shapes her hands-on approach to supporting Charmides’ portfolio companies.

Prior to founding her own business, Annie served as Chief of Staff for the Chicagoland region of a global nonprofit, where she honed her leadership and strategic planning skills. Her diverse life experience bridges operational expertise and an entrepreneurial mindset, positioning her as a dynamic force within the venture capital community.
Annie is passionate about fostering greater representation of women in venture capital and is dedicated to encouraging more women to enter the industry. She believes that hard work, mutual respect, and a willingness to learn are essential to both personal and professional success.

Outside of her professional commitments, Annie is dedicated to making an impact in her community. She currently serves on the board of 91 Place, a nonprofit organization providing transitional housing and workforce development for unhoused youth in Indianapolis. She lives in Indianapolis, IN, with her husband.
