Brigitte is the founder of whose mission is to help fill the start-up financing gap by accompanying, educating, and coaching investors, entrepreneurs and startup board members across the world. It works with organisations such as the World Bank, the European Commission, GIZ and DGGF. Brigitte also founded GoBeyond Early Stage Investing. GoBeyond enables novice to sophisticated investors to build, manage and exit diversified portfolios of investments in young, fast growing companies. It offers cross border investment opportunities, syndication/pooling, due diligence, investment monitoring services, and training, GoBeyond operates in Europe and the US. GoBeyond was subject of an HBS case study. Brigitte is the European Angel Investor of 2015, Top 3 best Female Business Angel in Europe in 2020. In 2016-2018 she was listed in Europe’s TOP 50 most influential women in the start-up and venture capital space and Top Women in FinTech. Since 2020, she part of the World Economic Forum Digital Leaders of Europe Community Brigitte is President Emeritus of EBAN, the European trade association for Business Angels and Seed Funds and past Chair of Young Presidents Organization’s (YPO) Deal Network. Brigitte Baumann has 20+ years of experience in bringing new technologies to market in the US and Europe . She was the CEO and Director of iWORLD Group, a VC backed, global developer of mobile content. She was Senior Vice President and General Manager Internet at American Express (Amex) Corporate Services. There she launched a variety of internet businesses including online travel (strategic partner of Expedia.com and subject of HBS case study) and e-Procurement. Prior to that, Brigitte spent three years as President for US and Canada of Gemalto, the world’s leader in smart card technology and applications to introduce smart cards in the North America. She spent six years in different Vice-Presidential/General Manager positions in the UK, France and Switzerland at Amex. She also spent five years with McKinsey & Company Inc. as Senior Engagement Manager, in New York, Paris and Tokyo. She began her career in manufacturing and sales with Rohm & Haas, a leading specialty chemicals company. Brigitte holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University, Boston and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed an advanced management program at HBS. Born and raised in France, Brigitte now lives in Zurich.

Mentoring Experience

I bring over a decade of hands-on mentoring experience, supporting early-stage founders—particularly women—across a wide range of sectors and geographies. I have served as an expert mentor for World Bank entrepreneurship programs and, for the past three years, have led mentoring and training at the Katapult Accelerator in Serbia. My approach blends 30+ years of CEO experience in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings with over 20 years as an angel investor in 60+ startups, with multiple successful exits. I regularly advise founders on fundraising strategy, investor readiness, and innovation execution. I’ve also served on advisory boards, helped build startup ecosystems, and bring a global perspective shaped by work in Europe, the U.S., and emerging markets.
