Bettina Pierre-Gilles

Bettina Pierre-Gilles is a distinguished business leader and entrepreneur who has made significant contributions to the renewable energy sector in Western Canada. As the Founder, President, and CEO of Luxeum Renewables Group Inc. (LRG), she has established one of the largest utility-scale solar development companies in the region.

Born in Haiti and having lived in New York City before moving to Canada, Bettina's diverse background has shaped her unique perspective in the business world. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary's University and an MBA from Queen's University. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional development is evident in her numerous certifications, including the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) certification[4].

With over 20 years of experience in senior finance roles, Bettina has developed a strong foundation in strategic business organization, operations, and expansion. Prior to founding LRG in February 2016, she served as CFO for several energy companies, where she honed her skills in developing functional strategies, organizational effectiveness tools, and corporate structuring.

Under Bettina's leadership, Luxeum Renewables Group has become a key player in the alternative energy sector. The company specializes in developing, building, operating, and maintaining solar PV projects for a diverse clientele, including municipalities, institutions, corporations, community co-ops, and investors across North America, Latin America, and other emerging markets. LRG's mission is to help clients develop successful solar projects that are delivered on time, using cost-effective and up-to-date systems that function optimally throughout the project's lifecycle.

Bettina's expertise extends beyond her role at LRG. She is also the owner and operator of Phasis Consulting, a boutique advisory firm providing First Nations consulting services and business development expertise. Her deep understanding of Aboriginal taxation, business set-up, and strategic management has made her a valuable asset in this field.

Throughout her career, Bettina has demonstrated a strong commitment to corporate governance and community involvement. She has served on numerous boards, including Calgary Co-Op, where she chaired the Governance Committee, and Piikani Investment Corporation, a Treaty 7 First Nations organization based in Southern Alberta. Currently, she sits as Vice-Chair of the Audit Committee and Board of Trustee for Queen's University.
