Ahmad Mahdavi

Ahmad Mahdavi, Iranian, insect/ pesticide environmental toxicologist, Bsc and Msc from the University of Tehran 1974 and 1981 in entomology/ pesticide toxicology. Employed by the University of Mazandaran 1982, PhD from the University of Guelph, Canada 1990, worked on insecticide resistance/ pesticide toxicology. As one of the pioneers of ecotoxicology in a joint symposium between Guelph and MSU (USA) and later in the UC Berkeley (2000) started a wide study about use and significance of pesticide/ chemicals in the environment/ food, pesticide related health effects on human, toxic threat to biodiversity/ wetlands, introduced the neem tree Azadirachta indica from the Persian Gulf. Moved to the University of Tehran 1998. Established the NGO: Sustainable agriculture and environment 2002 for pesticide pollution reduction & regulations in Iran, later followed the work in Ontario, Canada in a global level (the NGO is not registered yet but with high activities). Now as a retired professor of the University of Tehran, member of the Iranian Soc. of Toxicology, Entomological Soc. of America, ISSX, SETAC, Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP), Sustainable Education for Lifestyle (SLE) and many other national and international societies working on pesticide/ chemicals pollution reduction and regulations for developing countries, neem tree, Azadirachta indica in the Persian Gulf region.
I am starting a science based company for natural compounds and also for pesticide/ biocide regulations to help developing countries and in particular ME countries.
