Brooke Pyne

In her role as the EVP, of Innovation and Strategy at the Applied Research Institute (ARI), Ms. Pyne drives an innovation framework infused with agile methodologies to foster a trusted environment that addresses ecosystem technological and capability growth. She works with diverse ecosystem partners such as government, industry, and academia to unify innovation opportunities and cultivate focused and intentional partnerships that innovate, prototype, transition, and deliver game-changing technology and products to raise the level of innovation throughout the Midwest Region. Ms. Pyne joins ARI after three years of directing the NSTXL, S2MARTS OTA, and supporting the Department of Defense for 17 years. At S2MARTS, her expertise helped establish innovation processes which resulted in $1 billion of funding awarded to cutting-edge technology projects addressing national security needs. Her extensive knowledge of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR/STTR) program, Federal Technology Transfer (T2), and the federal lab network provides a unique opportunity to leverage a suite of innovation enablers to rapidly address cutting-edge technology needs. Ms. Pyne is a nationally recognized expert in public-private partnerships and technology transfer (T2). She is the recipient of the DoD George Lindsteadt National Award for T2 Excellence and a National SBIR Tibbetts Awardee. Ms. Pyne has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan, a certification in Professional Management from Indiana University Kelly School of Business, and a master’s certification in Public Management from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).
