Carlinton Burrell

Carlinton G. Burrell is one of the Caribbean's foremost climate innovation leaders. He is known for turning the region's climate vulnerability into economic opportunity. For over a decade he has worked to build a Caribbean where the solutions to climate change are invented, financed and scaled by Caribbean entrepreneurs. Along the way he has helped lay the foundations of new domestic green industries across the region.

As Chief Executive Officer of the Caribbean Climate Innovation Center (CCIC), Carlinton leads the region's main platform for cleantech entrepreneurship. He has built a regional ecosystem that finds promising green ventures early, develops them through incubation, acceleration and mentorship, and connects them with the capital they need to grow.

His ventures span renewable energy, energy efficiency, water and waste management, sustainable agribusiness and resource efficiency. In each area he backs Caribbean-made solutions that create jobs, attract investment and strengthen resilience.

A trusted adviser and business development strategist, Carlinton works with governments, private-sector leaders and quasi-government institutions across the region. With them he designs and delivers programmes that build lasting national and regional capacity for sustainable growth.
