Carmen Mateia

A well-known Angolan human rights activist and producer of socio-cultural practices who designs cultural interventions, social programmes and events using different forms, including text, performance and movement at the intersection of social justice and the arts.

My work focuses on civic leadership, social enterprise development, partnerships and fundraising, with a strong interest in entrepreneurship, improving public policy, feminist leadership and equity.

I am raising awareness on social justice through the start up of youth movements and innovative approaches to philanthropy and resource donation and takes many forms: community programmes, cultural events, philanthropic consultancy, beneficiaries volunteering to be part of the action, incubation and acceleration programmes.
