Carolina Puerta

Carolina Puerta is an ecosystem builder and impact investing leader based in Mexico, with extensive experience strengthening entrepreneurial and investment ecosystems. She is a Partner at New Ventures and Ecosystem Development Director, where she leads strategic alliances, regional partnerships, and ecosystem-building initiatives connecting entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, governments, foundations, universities, and international development organizations.

Throughout her career, Carolina has focused on building the relationships, platforms, and collaborative structures that enable entrepreneurs and impact-driven organizations to grow. She served as Executive Director of the Foro Latinoamericano de Inversión de Impacto (FLII), helping consolidate it as one of the region’s leading impact investing platforms. Under her leadership, FLII convened thousands of participants from more than 60 countries and fostered connections among capital providers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and ecosystem leaders.

Carolina also served as Director of the Alianza por la Inversión de Impacto México (AIIMx), Mexico’s National Partner within the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment. In this role, she contributed to advancing market coordination, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among key actors in Mexico’s impact economy.

At New Ventures, she contributes to regional projects including Silver Ventures, an ecosystem platform focused on longevity and the silver economy in Latin America, among others initiatives, Carolina focuses on promoting digital capabilities of small businesses across the region.

Her work is grounded in the belief that strong ecosystems are built through trust, shared agendas, and sustained collaboration across sectors. Carolina brings extensive experience designing convening platforms, mobilizing strategic partnerships, and translating relationships into collective action. She is particularly interested in developing more connected, inclusive, and resilient entrepreneurial ecosystems capable of addressing Latin America’s most pressing social and environmental challenges.

Carolina holds a degree in Political Science, postgraduate studies in Journalism, and a Master’s degree in International Affairs. A Colombian based in Mexico, she has built a career with a distinctly regional perspective, working across Latin America and the Caribbean.
