Axel Leonel Cordoba

Axel Cordoba is an Argentine geologist, data scientist and entrepreneur, passionate about the crossover between technology, innovation and the study of the planet. With a degree in Geological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional del Comahue and a Master's candidate in Business & Technology from the Universidad de San Andrés, he has dedicated his career to applying advanced digital tools to transform our understanding of the Earth.
His innovative approach led him to found Hydroplus & Hydrix Agritech, a pioneering company in the development of sustainable technological solutions for the agricultural sector. There, Axel drove the creation of a biodegradable polymer capable of reducing water consumption for irrigation by 50%, revolutionizing water resource management in rural environments. This project earned him the recognition as Young Argentine Entrepreneur 2023 by the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME) and his selection among the 35 Innovators Under 35 in Latin America by the MIT Technology Review at Spanish.
His commitment to sustainability and innovation transcended borders, representing Argentina as a finalist in the Entrepreneurs World Cup in Saudi Arabia, where his company stood out among 100 global projects. In addition, he was recognized as one of the 50 finalists of the prestigious Global Student Prize for his positive impact on science and society. Axel combines his expertise in geology with his deep knowledge in data science, artificial intelligence and technological innovation, working on projects ranging from 3D subsurface modeling to big data analysis for natural resource exploration. As a scientist at Pan American Energy, he led digital transformation initiatives in the energy sector, optimizing processes through emerging technologies.
