Chiao Lin

Chiao Lin is the Co-Founder and CEO of Mixel Studio, Inc., a software design and development startup focused on extended reality (XR) based in Ann Arbor. He is the creator of OrchestrateXR, a platform that enables educators to design and lead immersive spatial lessons with ease. With a background in architecture and a Master’s in Information from the University of Michigan, Chiao is passionate about reshaping the future of learning through human-centered, accessible technology.
Recognized as a 2024–25 Zell Entrepreneur and recipient of UMSI’s Edmon Low Award and Weiser Family Graduate Entrepreneur of the Year, Chiao is known for his creativity, technical vision, and deep commitment to collaboration and community. He leads a diverse, interdisciplinary team and has partnered with local institutions including the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, Mott Children’s Hospital, and the U-M Natural History Museum.
Chiao’s determination to advance XR for education and social good has been recognized through back-to-back wins in the University of Michigan’s Learning Lever competition. His work aims to make learning more engaging, equitable, and joyful. He believes innovation matters most when it empowers people—and he’s dedicated to building technology that does just that.
