myanmar women entrepreneurs association aims to unite and bring into focus and world attention to the role and capabilities of myanmar women entrepreneurs. mwea organizes the energies and enterprise of myanmar women entrepreneurs into sisterhood with awareness, national and international vision and mission of social and self-development. the membership is voluntary and includes women entrepreneurs and economically active women, professionals and executive management levels.

being the secretary general of the association is indeed an honour to carry on the baton for myanmar women entrepreneurs development which is already at its 28 years of founding. myanmar women entrepreneurs association was founded in 1995 with over 3,000 members as of 2023. i am a women in tech with 25 years of experience in the myanmar ict industry.

i have always wanted to become a women entrepreneur since 1989, when myanmar changed to market economy. have been steadfast in my journey as a women entrepreneur, a second generation leader of one of the leading ict group in myanmar.

upon the return to myanmar in 1998, i joined myanmar women entrepreneurs association, with the common vision and objectives in implementing the 5 core strategies to develop the capability and life of women in myanmar in upgrading their role and participation for the socio economic development by ;
• upgrading and empowering the entrepreneurial and leadership capacity of women, facilitating to have supportive culture, family, social environment and community that encourage women towards their entrepreneurial endeavours.
• support women to have access to financial and capital, empowering opportunities across the globe
• facilitating, advocating and supporting the development of legal, regulatory and policy framework which protects and promote micro small and medium enterprises lead by women.
• facilitating, advocating and supporting the right of women to gain equal access to economic opportunities and to get wider stakeholder participation including protection of women at work.
• providing humanitarian and philanthropic support for the poorest and the most vulnerable women and their families.
