CJ Cornell

CJ Cornell is a serial entrepreneur, investor, advisor, mentor, author, speaker and educator.  As an entrepreneur, CJ Cornell was a founder of 9 startup ventures that collectively attracted over $250 million in private funding; created nearly a thousand new jobs; and launched dozens of innovative consumer, media and communications products - that have exceeded $3 billion in revenues. Recently, he was Professor of Digital Media & Entrepreneurship at ASU and Co-Director at the school’s Knight Center for Digital Media Entrepreneurship, ASU’s first full-time Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and was awarded the President's Award for Innovation.  Prior he was CEO and founder of Chaos Media Networks - the largest video on demand network in the US before it was acquired by Comcast, and later was a Venture Partner at Silicom Ventures LLC - one of the most successful venture firms in the country after the dotcom boom. CJ Cornell is the author of the best selling book The Age of Metapreneurship – A Journey into the Future of Entrepreneurship, and coauthor the textbook - Media Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and author of the upcoming book: The Startup Brain Trust – all about the Mentors, Advisors and the Entrepreneurs they help. He writes about entrepreneurship, and his blog has been cited as one of the top 50 most influential blogs for entrepreneurship and startups.  He holds undergraduate degrees in engineering, a master’s in management and a Ph.D. in marketing and strategy. CJ sits on the board  of 5 high-tech companies, and many public entrepreneurship and economic development committees.
