Conrad Bwalya

Conrad combines a drive for operational and rural development excellence with a deep commitment to integrity and a passion for sustainability. He guides Bwando with a philosophy rooted in personal connection, striving to create value for customers and feed Zambia and the region while caring for the company’s team members, communities and the environment. Under Conrad’s direction, Bwando has gone into acquisitions of small farms within and outside Lusaka, launched its leading smallholder farmer supply chain enlisting program to help create rural economic opportunities and end hunger in smallholder farmer households. Conrad started his business career at Bwando Farms in 2015 in the crop segment as a hobby and has since grown the businesses across oods, whose value now stands at $2,118,913 in investments and assets with 21 full time team members at 2 facilities around rural Lusaka province. Most recently, in the roles of Director of Operations and International Business, Conrad helped grow Bwando’s regional footprint, including in high-growth preprojective markets in Congo DRC and Angola. He also serves as Leader of the Foundations for Farming Network where he is responsible for training rural poor smallholder farmers in conservation farming and small livestock production and management.
