Despite his achievements, Corey encountered another obstacle entering college—academic ineligibility under the Prop 48 rule, which forced him to sit out his freshman year. Undeterred, he funded his education out of pocket for two years before earning a scholarship his junior year. His perseverance ultimately led him to the NFL, where he joined the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent.

Following his football career, Corey transitioned into real estate development, applying the same discipline and strategic mindset that propelled him in sports.
