Dana Rice

As Global Senior Vice President of Institutional Giving and Women’s Philanthropy, Dana Rice is responsible for raising major funding from key stakeholder groups, including global multi-national corporations, foundations, multilateral and bi-lateral institutions, and high net worth individuals, to advance the organization’s mission to eradicate extreme poverty. In this role, Dana oversees Opportunity International’s global fundraising and engagement strategies, sets the institutional and corporate donor fundraising strategy, leads the Women’s Philanthropy initiative, and forges innovative partnerships that benefit clients, create jobs and drive economic growth in the developing world.Prior to joining Opportunity International, Dana was Director of Community Relations for Grosvenor Capital Management, where she was responsible for the firm’s civic and charitable programs, including strategic partnerships, grants to nonprofit organizations, event sponsorships, volunteerism, disaster relief efforts and employee drives.Previously, she was President of Rice Global Advisors, which provided consulting services to global nonprofit organizations in the areas of strategic planning, governance, communications, and development.As a consultant Dana worked with African Women's Development Fund, Human Rights Watch, Young Women's Leadership Charter School of Chicago and a World Bank-funded literacy project in Morocco, among other charitable organizations.She also served as Counsel in the labor, employment and general corporate practice groups for Schiff Hardin, and as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Levy Restaurants.Dana earned a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and legal studies from Wellesley College. She is a member of the bar in California, Illinois and Washington, D.C.Dana also serves on the board of governors for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs’ Women and Global Development Steering Committee.
