David Segal

Dr. David Segal is a renowned pediatric endocrinologist with a distinguished career spanning multiple continents. He graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa in 1993 and later completed his residency in Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic in the USA. He furthered his expertise with fellowship training in Endocrinology at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
Upon returning to South Africa in 2003, Dr. Segal established the largest diabetes and endocrine practice in the country, operating across both public and private sectors. In 2016, he was appointed as an Honorary Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Driven by a passion for scalable healthcare solutions, Dr. Segal co-founded Guidepost, an eHealth company providing diabetes tele-coaching services to thousands across South Africa. In 2022, he joined Parkview Health in the USA to develop a Pediatric Endocrine service and serve as Medical Director of Innovation and Remote Monitoring Care at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation.
Dr. Segal's expertise focuses on leveraging systems thinking, AI, wearable data, and patient self-management skills to create innovative healthcare solutions that enhance outcomes while reducing costs. With over two decades of experience, he is dedicated to helping individuals and caregivers better understand and address the challenges of managing chronic conditions.
