Mareshah Yorrick

Dr. Mareshah Yorrick is a Guyanese medical doctor, entrepreneur, and the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of Synergy Weight Loss Centre & MediSpa. With more than a decade of experience in healthcare, she is committed to combining medicine, medical aesthetics and metabolic wellness to improve clients’ confidence, health and overall well-being.

Dr. Yorrick earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in Havana, Cuba, in 2014. Her continued professional development includes studies in Pediatric Nutrition through Boston University and Leadership and Management in Health through the University of Washington. She has also completed advanced education in facial harmonization with Empire Medical in Peru, as well as training in botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, platelet-rich plasma therapies and sclerotherapy through the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine.

Her decision to establish Synergy was deeply personal. Following the birth of her children, Dr. Yorrick experienced firsthand the physical and emotional changes many women face after childbirth. She understood how changes in the body, self-image and personal identity could affect a woman’s confidence and well-being. This experience strengthened her belief that every woman deserves the opportunity to feel beautiful, confident and connected to herself again—not because she is inadequate, but because her well-being matters.

At the same time, she identified a significant gap in Guyana for authentic, physician-led medical aesthetics care. People seeking aesthetic treatments, medical weight management and body transformation often had limited access to medically supervised, evidence-based services tailored to their individual needs. She founded Synergy to help close this gap by creating a safe and professional environment where medicine, aesthetics and wellness could work together.

Under her leadership, Synergy has evolved from a weight-loss-focused practice into an integrated medical aesthetics and wellness centre. Its services include medically supervised weight management, advanced skin treatments, injectable aesthetics, regenerative therapies and non-surgical body contouring. This approach recognizes that physical health, appearance, emotional well-being and self-confidence are closely connected.

Dr. Yorrick is intentional about developing Synergy as a responsible medical practice rather than a trend-driven beauty business. Her philosophy is that aesthetic medicine must begin with understanding the individual—their anatomy, skin, medical history, concerns, expectations and desired outcome. She believes more treatment is not always better and that ethical care sometimes means advising a client against a procedure. Safety, informed consent, honest communication and natural-looking results are central to the Synergy experience.

A major milestone in the company’s development was achieving certification under the Guyana National Bureau of Standards’ GYS 901:2024 framework. This reflects Dr. Yorrick’s commitment to quality, accountability, documented procedures and continuous improvement. She believes a successful medical aesthetics business should be measured not only by growth, but also by the systems it establishes to protect clients and maintain consistently high standards.

Client education is also central to her work. Through consultations, digital content and community initiatives, she helps people understand aesthetic and wellness treatments before making decisions. By providing accessible information about skin health, injectable treatments, regenerative therapies, body contouring and medical weight management, Synergy challenges misinformation and empowers clients to make safer, more informed choices.
