Carolyne Ekyarisiima

Carolyne Ekyarisiima is a technology entrepreneur, agribusiness founder, and digital inclusion leader with a proven track record in building scalable, impact-driven ventures across Africa. She is the Founder of Apps and Girls, an award-winning organization advancing digital skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship among girls and women, and the Founder of WRIS Agro Company Limited, an agribusiness focused on processing, supplying, and exporting premium organic meat and agricultural products to local and international markets.
With a professional background in computer science and information systems, Carolyne has led large-scale initiatives addressing the gender digital divide by delivering high-impact training in IT, robotics, and technology entrepreneurship. Her work has enabled thousands of girls and young women in Uganda and Tanzania to access future-ready skills and participate meaningfully in the digital economy.
Carolyne’s leadership and impact have received international recognition, including awards and acknowledgments from the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), Women in Tech Global, and the Tanzania ICT Commission for advancing digital empowerment and social inclusion. She serves as the National Coordinator for Uganda at the FIRST Global Robotics Competition, representing the country on a global STEM platform, and has collaborated with internationally respected initiatives such as the Obama Foundation and the Africa Entrepreneurship Award.
