Good Day Sir/ Ma
My name is Emmanuella Poegsna’an Fomto and I come from a little boarder town in Nigeria known as idiroko. Growing up as a child, I saw my parents who were both immigration officers venture into businesses in order to sustain the family and it kept me wondering why they weren’t contented with their salaries. Eventually when I became an adult, I understood that salary is a trap to keep you living below the standard and away from succeeding in life. From selling of motor part, to running a provision store and a fabric store, our needs were properly met. Most of the months, salaries were delayed parents would have to go around begging and taking loans.
When I got to the university, my Dad was retired by then and so a lot of my funding had to come from my Mom which wasn’t as easy as it should have. I then began a perfume business where I ordered from China and Egypt and it sold almost immediately. It helped in covering for my tuition, upkeep and it even bought me a new phone. After my first year I decided to include lipgloss in my business and it really sold. I was so proud of myself and my parents were also proud of me. I graduated with ease knowing fully well that I have a business that would support me. I learned from my parents never to depend on salaries or wages especially coming from a third world economy country. I also learned how to speak French fluently online and from traveling to different French speaking African countries with my Mom, like Togo and Senegal.
Entrepreneurship is a journey of many experiences as it is the answer to a sustainable economy. I hope I am selected by your prestigious organization to represent business starters in local communities reach their peak. Im also a marketing expert that uses social media to captivate our customers especially through putting out valuable contents. Thank You.
