Fatma Khamis

  A graduate of Hotel and Tourism Management from the University of Nicosia (formerly known as Intercollege), Fatma has held senior management positions in various prestigious hotels in Tanzania, including the award-winning hotel group The Residence Zanzibar after extensive training in Cyprus, UK and Egypt. She served as the Executive Secretary for the Hotels Association of Tanzania (HAT) and the Executive Director of the Zanzibar Association of Tourism Investors (ZATI).  She consulted for the Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce and ZATI before setting up her own hospitality and project management consultancy firm in 2015.  She is known for her impeccable organizational strategy development, business management and leadership skills Tanzania tourism industry.  Active in many civil, non-profit activities, she served as the Chairperson of the Zanzibar Association of US State Alumni and is currently a Board Member and Vice Chairwoman of Small Medium Industry Development Authority in Zanzibar (SMIDA).   She is a Co-founder of ZAYEE and volunteers as the General Secretary.  ZAYEE is a non-profit organisation launched in June 2010, its main objective is to enhance the potential and talent of Tanzania's youth through initiatives that empower education and promote entrepreneurship
