Fatou Manneh

fatou manneh is an entrepreneur with extensive industry knowledge. over a period of ten years, she has worked and supported thousands of entrepreneurs and farmers, low-income earners (women) across the length and breadth of the gambia through entrepreneurship training and climate change mitigation and adaptation training with the empretec project as a trainer and now buzz women as the program lead of buzz green and this has given her the knowledge and experience to be able to manage her business and make it sustainable; for the reason that she has first-hand knowledge of the market.
fatou manneh holds a bachelor’s degree in development studies and completed her master’s program in entrepreneurship and innovation at the university of milano bicocca and co-implemented with haaga-helia university of applied sciences, university of thessaly and fh joanneum university of applied sciences. she has extensive knowledge and experience in the agricultural business and has participated in so many pitching contests. fatou is the founder of jelmah herbella and graduated as a coif 3.0 mentee, and coif best entrepreneur of the year, in 2022, vice president of peace ambassadors the gambia, agricultural secretary foni agency for rural development. fatou’s motivation is to contribute to changing the lives of farmers and malnourished families in the field of agriculture within the gambia and beyond; as a result, she founded jelmah herbella aims to create a direct market for local women farmers producing these herbal products. as it helps local farmers increase productivity, and enhance living standards. create meaningful jobs for women and youth to improve living standards and reduce poverty. i’m motivated to contribute to a healthy population through agricultural.
she specializes in entrepreneurship and climate change mitigation training as my professional career. her jelmah herbella processes locally grown herbs and cereals into teas, honey, herbal seasoning and baby food through the use of a blended recipe that gives customers a unique taste and healthy diet. she works with farmers to produce organic herbs on a large scale through a farmer’s platform that brings together groups of women farmers under one umbrella. and she also engages in enterprise development with the women she engages with at buzz women. so, she encourages women to engage in permaculture, grow herbs in their backyard using car tires, turn sacks, and broken pans, and sell (herbs & cereal crops) to a reliable market to earn extra income. she participates in ensuring a sustainable healthy community through organic farming and production. my enterprise contributes to unleashing the growth potentials of rural women and farmers as it contributes to sdg 13 on climate action through climate-friendly products.
currently, she is a unctad certified trainer at the entrepreneurship development centre (edc) giepa in the gambia, where she focuses on training women, youth, farmers, entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs on entrepreneurial behavioural programmers using the unctad empretec model to impact the lives of her participants for sustainable business growth.
