Felipe Matos

Felipe Matos is a reference to tech entrepreneurship and startups in Latin America. His initiatives have enabled more than 10 thousand startups, with U$300 million in investments. As a serial entrepreneur, he has had a hand in various aspects of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, from being a founder and venture capitalist to serving as a mentor and educator.

He serves Vice President at ABStartups, the Brazilian Startups Association, which represents a collection of seve thousand startups across the country. He also serves a Board Member of the think tank Dínamo which advocates for public policy to support startups and provides knowledge to design and implementation of programs. 

Most recently, Felipe founded Sirius, a tech college that offers training specialized in Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. He also serves as a board member of several startups, and supporting initiatives.

In 2000, Matos founded the first Latin American mobile application, Girando. Two years later, he co-founded Instituto Inovação, an accelerator to provide consulting services for technology transfer, corporate education, and venture capital investments. As an experienced business and tech-savvy professional, he has managed numerous other tech-related projects encompassing large corporations, startups, and governments.

Previously, he was founder of Startup Farm accelerator, and the COO of the Start-Up Brazil public program. He was also a co-founder of the venture builder Instituto Inovação, at the innovation consulting firm Inventta, at the venture capital manager Inseed Investments, and of the first mobile app in Latin America, Girando WAP.

Felipe has been part of projects and initiatives related to tech innovation management in more than 10 countries, such as spearheading expansions for Inventta in Bogotá, Colombia and organizing various business missions, events, and cooperative initiatives across North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. 

Felipe is a regular columnist at Estadão newspaper and at PEGN magazine and author of the book "10 Mil Startups" (10 Thousand Startups).
