With her at the helm, TurtleTree has won global competitions like The Liveability Challenge and The Entrepreneurship World Cup for its innovative disruption of the dairy industry. In 2022, Fengru was named one of the 50th most influential people working on the future of food. These successes have also been accompanied by increasing media traction, with the company being featured on platforms such as CNN, the BBC, and Forbes.

Having expanded beyond its original aspirations as a plucky start-up, TurtleTree has now truly come into its own as a leading industry player. To date, the company has raised over US$40 million in funding following its recent US$30 million Series A round—one of the largest ever in the cell-based food sector.

Backed by major investors like VERSO Capital, KBW Ventures, and Green Monday Ventures, TurtleTree is now set to release its first consumer-ready functional blend in 2022. This massive support will allow Fengru to continue working on the causes she cares deeply about: ending animal cruelty, making sure the world’s growing population is fed, and improving the way people eat, drink, and live worldwide.
