ms freda miriklis ffinsia, master stockbroker, ssia chair, commonwealth businesswomen’s network non-executive director strategic advisor, consultant a global impact leader working at commonwealth and united nations (un) level recognised for delivering business coalitions focused on women’s economic empowerment and transformative change. freda is an advocate, strategist and consultant with 25 years of international development experience. residing in melbourne, australia, her advocacy and advisory work have taken her to over 80 countries, speaking at high-level forums and walking with people and communities. she spearheads an international philanthropic foundation that has funded the construction of more than 80 schools for vulnerable communities throughout the world. she shapes global policy as chair and founding director of the commonwealth businesswomen’s network (cbwn) – the only accredited organisation on women’s leadership and economic empowerment recognised by 56 governments. she also undertakes specialist consulting engagements, domestically and internationally. a recognised policy advocate and influencer, she has facilitated strategic partnerships and connections, un ecosoc (economic and social council) applications for ngos, and regularly co-ordinates influential side events at commonwealth and un forums. freda has been bestowed life membership of business and professional women (bpw) australia in her recognition of her service and contribution as president of bpw international (2011-2014). she recently completed a nine-year term as a director of the hellenic initiative australia, a global non-profit mobilising the greek diaspora to support sustainable economic recovery and renewal for greece and its people.
