Francisco Moreira Tenente

I was lucky to be born as a “middle brother” in a family with little income, but a lot of love, resilience, and hard work.
My mother tells stories like when at the age of four I said to her “don't worry because I'm going to create a teleporting machine and dad will be less stressed”.
I believe that education and the values transmitted mainly by the immediate family, but also by society are the main factors that shape us and I was lucky to be surrounded by people throughout my life who taught me that there is always a solution when we deconstruct the “problems” into small challenges, that the constant desire to learn and improve is the best way to live free and that together we are always stronger. I learned that from being a scout for 14 years and, regularly practicing Downhill, Skate, Surf, Freefall, and Krav Maga. 

I have about 290 product ideas written with a defined business model, sketches, and some patent designs, and when I started trying to launch some of them, I realized that the industry is highly fragmented (millions of designers, thousands of factories, hundreds of manufacturing technologies, and endless material options to use) but every factory told me that their technology was the best. I also realized that the industrialization process is very, very slooooooooow when compared to the speed of software development, which creates a bottleneck for technological innovation. 

At the age of 23, I started 3DWays with a single objective: To help creatives like me to transform idealized products into reality, quickly and with lower risk. Today we have more than 500 impact products developed and industrialized for both corporates like Siemens and Startups. The close work with other entrepreneurs and the mindset of creating the ecosystem that hardware entrepreneurs like myself look for has led us to partner with some of the main service providers in the world, that range from patent attorneys to certification agencies, hardware investors, and over 300 vetted factories, thus empowering inventors to do what they do best: Discovering ways of changing the world to the better and pushing that product to the hands of who need them most.

Leveraging this experience, in 2019, I created another company called FullCycle to industrialize sustainable products, allying myself with a person with more than 15 years of experience in Life Cycle Analysis and Circular Economy. We work with large retailers, and we perform Eco-Design, Sustainable Industrialization (recycled and recyclable materials with sustainable manufacturing processes), Circular Economy/Reverse Logistics, and Life Cycle Analysis to ensure everyone has the means to create new products sustainably.

I am also the co-founder of SWRS, a smart device that collects water from the shower and feeds the toilet flushing system, which is still in the early stage research phases.

Finally, I mentor hardware startups and I am an advisor for some amazing startups and Founders around the world.

My passion and goal in life are to help entrepreneurs and creative minds around the world to generate innovation and increase the world's innovation rates and the success of impact hardware products.
