Gianni Romani

Gianni Romaní Chocce, PhD in Business Administration-Finance, Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil. Academic / researcher at the Faculty of Economics and Administration (FACEA) of the Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN), Antofagasta. Director of the Entrepreneurship and SME Center, FACEA/UCN. Her research area is Angel Investment in Latin America and Entrepreneurship. She has published various articles in mainstream journals, as well as book chapters in Chile and abroad. Through her line of research, she knows all the networks that have been created and those that are working in Chile and the rest of Latin America. She has a very close relationship with those who lead these networks. In 2016 and 2017, She published the first report on Angel Activity in Chile, co-authored with colleagues, and in 2019 we published the Report on Angel Activity in Peru. Main researcher of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor - GEM Antofagasta, Global University Entrepreneurial Student's Spirit Survey- GUESSS Chile and of the Nucleus Millennium Center for the Integral Development of Territories. She has been the main researcher of the Fondecyt project: Geography of Entrepreneurship in Chile, and co-researcher in others as Mining Culture and Masculinity and Labor Projection of women in Chilean mining. She is a mentor of the Mi Norte Foundation and the UN Women Program. She has been the main promoter for the creation of Atacama Angels network and is currently leading the project: Creation of the first business angel network in northern Chile, financed by CORFO and supported by Escondida BHP. She has recently assumed the responsibility of serving as the GBAN National Lead Member for Chile.
