Rim Gasmi

Rim Gasmi is an Algerian associate professor and the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, recognized for her leadership in artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and community development. She also serves as the AI House Manager at the University Center of Illizi, where she promotes emerging technologies and supports academic, research, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
A rising leader in STEM, Rim was selected by the International Institute of Education (IIE) as one of the TechWomen 2024 Emerging Leaders, representing Algeria among 100 outstanding women from 21 countries. She has been internationally recognized for her innovation and entrepreneurship, winning the Best Project in Entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley, for her impactful projects that combine AI, education, and social development.
Rim has led high-impact projects such as a VR simulation of Tassili n’Ajjer, an AI educational platform for autistic children, an Amazigh language translation tool, and the NovaCast inclusive podcast platform integrating sign language for accessibility.
Her research extends to plant disease detection, low-resource AI for remote areas, climate modeling, and AI-driven cultural preservation.
