Gidden Augustin is the Founder and Managing Director of islandTEK, a Saint Lucian-based, regional and international IT and Project Management company that focuses on ensuring that its valued customers Stay safe, secure and resilient in these uncertain times, with high quality, remote and onsite IT network and security solutions for business and home. islandTEK’s motto is We Get I.T.

Gidden currently serves as a director on the Board of the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (2023-Present), has served as a St. Lucia Youth Business Trust and GEW mentor and advisor since 2015, and currently represents the Chamber on the Goverment of Saint Lucia (GOSL)’s National Export Council, National Export Strategy (NES) Committee, Consumer Protection Council, Renewable Energy Sector Development Project (RESDP) Stakeholder Committee, National Electronic Single-Window for Trade, OECS Maritime Single Window Initiative and St. Lucia Broadband Policy & Strategy – CARDTP Committees, and on the GOSL’s Cybersecurity “Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT)” Establishment Plan Panel.

His over 33 years’ experience in the local, regional and international IT sectors span roles at and engagements with, including but not limited to J.Q. Charles Group of Companies, the Baywalk Mall, ICC® Cricket World Cup 2007, ICC® World T20 Cricket Cup 2010, ICC® Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup – West Indies & USA 2024, GEF SGP UNDP, Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC), University of Guyana, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Soufriere Marine Management Association (SMMA), St. Lucia Distillers Ltd., the Saint Lucia Air & Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA), the Government of Saint Lucia and the Government of Barbados.

He holds a B.Sc. Computer Science with First Class Honours from the UWI, A+ and iNet+ Certifications from CompTIA, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), an AXIS Communications® Certified Professional and a holds a Certified ICT Advisor designation from the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Carib Export) among others.

He is also a member of the ICT Association of Saint Lucia (SLICTA) and served 3 consecutive terms on its executive as the Events and Programmes Officer from 2013-2020. He is also a Course Writer for the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC), a Saint Lucia Hospitality & Tourism Association (SLHTA) member, Project Management Institute (PMI) member, Microsoft® and AXIS Communications® Partner and is a registered UNDP/UNOPS Vendor.

Gidden is blessed to be married with 2 children and is a two-time Amateur Latin Dance Champion.
