Gugu Ntuli

Ms Ntuli is currently the Co-founder and CEO of Empiras Global Pty Ltd.
After spending nearly, a decade in Media and Communication with the SABC, ABSA, and Private Wealth Management, Ms Ntuli joined the NHS Institute at Warwick University (UK) as a researcher. She later moved to Leicestershire and Rutland Sport (Loughborough, UK), where she headed up their Performance division. In 2008, she moved back to South Africa to take up a role as the CEO of SUSPI, in Stellenbosch’s sports performance institute, where she spearheaded the transformation of the organization during her 4-year tenure. It was during this period that she was appointed into several committees of SASCOC where she not only contributed to the commericalisation of the organisation but also co-authored the Coaching Framework for Sport in South Africa.
Ms. Ntuli went on to head up Marketing at Adidas Emerging Markets South and West Africa where she oversaw the marketing and communications, brand, PR, CRM, and e-commerce. In 2017, she took on a role as Executive Director of Kara Gold, operating from Uganda and headquartered in Mauritius. She spent nearly three years in the company before joining the SABC as Group Executive of Corporate Affairs and Marketing. After launching the leading streaming service, SABC +, she resigned to establish the award winning Edtech company that assists young African students find suitable, affordable study abroad opportunities across 18 countries.
Ms Ntuli has nearly two decades of board experience across a plethora of sectors, including Sport, Agriculture, sports retail and mining. She currently serves as the President of the Western Cape Tennis Federation, and the President of the Businesswomen of Africa Collective Capital (BACC). She is a seasoned business leader, an excellent communicator with a superior cultural quotient and language aptitude gained while working in Europe, Australia, West and Southern Africa. She holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Coventry Business School (UK), a B. Bus (International Business) degree from QUT (Australia), and a Diploma in French from Sorbonne University (Paris).
