Gultekin Ozdemir
Gültekin Özdemir is a biotechnology entrepreneur and the founder of Abaka Teknoloji, a bio-startup based in Osmaniye Technopark, Turkey. With a background in biology and molecular biology, he specializes in developing functional fermented foods enriched with postbiotic compounds.
His work blends traditional Anatolian fermentation practices with modern biotech innovation. In 2023, he launched a pioneering production line for postbiotic-rich soup (Tirshik), following R&D on lyophilized starter cultures and microbiome-oriented fermentation. His current focus includes scaling natural gut-health solutions and initiating the cultural cultivation of Arum maculatum, an endemic plant at the heart of his innovation.
Previously, he held senior leadership roles in education and consultancy, and has also worked internationally as a freelancer in business analysis and startup mentoring. He holds graduate degrees in Molecular Biology and English Business Administration, and is passionate about bridging science, tradition, and entrepreneurship to promote clean-label health innovations.
