Gunajit Brahma

Gunajit is a National Award-winning first-generation serial entrepreneur with about two decades of professional experience in Guwahati, Mumbai, and Bangalore, including 15 years as an entrepreneur in fintech, agribusinesses, and renewable energy.

Gunajit holds a dual Master's degree: PGDM from IIM Indore (2010-12) and M.Sc. in Microbiology (2004-06) from Bangalore University.

His entrepreneurial journey began in 2010 while studying at IIM Indore with his first venture, Renewable Bazaar, which was a marketplace for renewable energy solutions. He co-founded Farmeasy Technologies (P) Ltd., a tech platform for financial inclusion in Rural India, and sits on the board of Jeev Anksh Eco Products (P) Ltd., an agribusiness platform for exotic food products of Northeast India, exporting to Europe. He also teaches Entrepreneurship at IIM Indore, EEI-NER (Assam Agriculture University, Jorhat), IIT-Guwahati & at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, as a Guest Faculty. He co-owns a patent for “System And Method For Facilitating Interaction Between Users And Banks”.

He was instrumental in helping the State Govt. of Assam in formulating the Assam Startup Policy in 2016-17.

He’s a fluent public speaker and has been called to share his experience and his entrepreneurial journeys at major Trade and Industrial events like Emerging Northeast India, and other events organised by Industry associations like APEDA, ASSOCHAM, FINER, FICCI, ICC, RBIH, and by educational institutes like IIM Indore, IIM Shillong, IIT Guwahati, WRI-India, etc.

He started his professional career in Bangalore (2007) as an Analyst in the area of New Media with Empower Research Knowledge Services, a global Media Analytics startup by MIT Sloan & IIM B graduates. He also worked briefly with BlueOcean Market Intelligence (Course 5i), a global research analytic firm, managed by Cross-Tab Marketing Services, a startup by IIM B graduate. Between 2008-2010, apart from his profession, he has also volunteered with various NGOs and Youth organisations in Bangalore, namely, My World, My Choice!, Indian Youth Climate Network (IYCN), & Art of Living Foundation.

Mr. Brahma grew up in Jorhat and completed schooling at KV ONGC, Jorhat in 2000; before moving to Bangalore for higher studies (2001). He came back to Assam in 2015, after spending about 14 years outside, to work for the betterment of the tribal communities of the Northeast region.

Apart from being a successful entrepreneur, Gunajit is also an author, lyricist and poet, and has written fiction and nonfiction books, and has contributed to blogs, magazines and journals. He has published 2 short stories, available on Amazon Kindle.

He enjoys trekking and cycling, and has climbed 11000 ft. of Himalayan Foothills in Uttarakhand; and cycled 80 km in 2011 and 100 km in 2018 to celebrate World Environment Day. Gunajit is a follower of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living Foundation.
