Haftu Haile Gebremichael

I am 40 years old who have a passion in personal, organizational and community development. Grown up in rural area of Tigray, Ethiopia, I studied Master of Business Administration at Mekelle University, Master of Arts in Public Policy at Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management in Seoul, South Korea and Master of Science in Agricultural Development at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Besides, I am certified National Master Trainer of the UNCTAD's Empretec Program.

I have sixteen years of work experience in different organizations and Positions. I used to Work in Mekelle University, Ethiopia, as a lecturer, researcher, department head and a member of research counseling center. While I was working at Mekelle University under my leadership, we managed to successfully launch an impactful masters program in Community Development and Leadership. In addition, I played a key role in organizing, establishing and managing Mekelle University Employees' Saving and Credit Cooperative which significantly contributed in empowering its members particularly through financing their housing scheme.

Moreover, I have been working with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute Ethiopia, since 2013, as a trainer and currently as a regional training and capacity building coordinator. Parallel to this, I co-founded Merho Training and Consultancy Services PLC which mainly works on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services provision and inspiring entrepreneurship in Tigray.
