My company is 2 Busy 2… and is aimed at the small business owner trying to fit everything into the hours of a working week. One of the most common things to get left undone for the people out there providing services such as plumbing, electrician, shopkeepers etc is the invoicing and getting money in. It seems fundamental, but so often people are just too busy to keep on top of the money and admin side of their business.

My background is in sales and marketing and have in recent years helped a local roofing business grow to over £1m annual turnover by organising and maintaining the finances/ administration/ record keeping etc. When that company closed, as the owner took early retirement, I wanted to offer my experience to other small companies. Working within small businesses is varied and fun as there is always a new avenue to improve. Whether that be Credit Control, Human Resources, Training, Customer Relations… anyone who has a small business will know the list is endless and something always needs attention. Bookkeeping certification through AAT has formalised the finance arm of my experience and enabled me to offer my new business idea early in 2024 which offers Business Admin and Bookkeeping to sole traders & small businesses in Oldham at an hourly rate.

The idea is that this is a ground level entry to new clients – when the business owners get to know me I can also help with more advanced business needs. Once the money starts flowing smoothly there is suddenly time for the business owner to think about growing the business again. I have seen it happen a few times now, it appears that a weight is lifted off their shoulders and their spark comes back. It really is rewarding to help small business owners in this way.
