Biography – Amb. QS Hadiza Larai Muhammed
Amb. QS Hadiza Larai Muhammed, MNIQS, RQS, AICMC, is a Nigerian entrepreneur, social-impact leader, Quantity Surveyor, peace ambassador, mediator, financial literacy trainer, gender-based violence (GBV) advocate, and community development practitioner passionate about building inclusive opportunities for women, youth, and underserved communities.
She is the Founder of Hadmoh Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Initiatives (HESDInitiatives), a social-impact organisation committed to promoting entrepreneurship, employable skills, financial inclusion, women’s economic empowerment, youth development, child protection, GBV prevention, and sustainable community development. Through HESDInitiatives, she has supported and empowered more than 1,000 small business owners in Niger State, while creating platforms that connect entrepreneurs with skills, markets, finance, mentorship, networks, and institutional opportunities.
As a Partner of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), Hadiza is committed to strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem by connecting local entrepreneurs and MSMEs to broader networks, knowledge, partnerships, innovation opportunities, and global platforms. Her work focuses particularly on ensuring that women and young people are not left behind in the rapidly evolving entrepreneurial and digital economy.
She is also the Managing Director of MH Hadmoh Global Investment Limited, a Nigerian enterprise involved in the production and promotion of natural and value-added products, including Shea butter, natural spices, teas, and Shea-based baby-care products. Her entrepreneurial journey reflects her commitment to transforming locally available resources into sustainable businesses, creating economic opportunities, and promoting Nigerian-made products.
Hadiza has extensive experience working with women-owned MSMEs, young entrepreneurs, students, youth corps members, widows, economically vulnerable women, and community members. Her programmes have covered entrepreneurship development, vocational and technical skills, financial literacy, digital and content-creation skills, recycling and circular-economy initiatives, Shea butter processing, poultry-feed formulation, market access, business formalisation, and enterprise development.
She is particularly passionate about women’s economic empowerment and believes that providing women with practical skills, access to finance, markets, mentorship, and supportive policies can significantly strengthen families and communities. She has contributed to initiatives addressing financial inclusion for women-owned businesses and has participated in stakeholder engagements focused on Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) and MSME policy development.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Hadiza is a strong advocate for child protection, gender equality, human rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence and human trafficking. Through HESDInitiatives, she promotes community awareness, reporting, referral, and collaboration with relevant government agencies, security institutions, civil society organisations, and development partners to protect vulnerable people and promote safer communities.
Her work has involved collaboration and engagement with government ministries and agencies, development partners, private-sector organisations, civil society organisations, and community stakeholders. She has participated in initiatives supported or facilitated by organisations including GIZ, SMEDAN, NAPTIP, NEPC, NAFDAC, SON, the Dangote Foundation, and other public and private-sector partners.
A registered Quantity Surveyor with more than a decade of professional experience in the public sector, Hadiza brings a unique combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurship, leadership, community development, and social-impact advocacy to her work. She currently serves as a Chief Quantity Surveyor with the Niger State Ministry for Rural and Community Development.
She is also the WAQSN NORTH4 Coordinator, covering Niger, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States, and has been actively involved in professional development, youth mentorship, career development, and capacity-building initiatives.
Her leadership philosophy is centred on the belief that entrepreneurship is not only about starting businesses; it is about creating solutions, building livelihoods, solving community problems, and creating opportunities for others to thrive. She advocates for an ecosystem where entrepreneurs have access to the right skills, finance, markets, mentorship, technology, policy support, and networks needed to grow sustainable enterprises.
Through her work, Hadiza continues to champion the transformation of ideas into viable enterprises, skills into livelihoods, and communities into stronger and more resilient economic ecosystems.
