UGURCAN KARTAL

He completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Food Engineering at Mersin University, Faculty of Engineering. After graduation, he gained his first experiences in the positions of Production and Quality Assurance Engineer. He completed his compulsory military service as a Food Control and Hygiene Inspection Officer at the Patnos Gendarmerie Commando Regiment Command. After his military service, he went on a world tour as a backpacker and during this time, he had the opportunity to reside, work and attend vocational training in New Zealand for about a year. After returning to Türkiye, he worked as a Customer Sales Representative at SGS Food Control Laboratory, which provides services in food and water analysis. Due to his interest in Food Microbiology, he later focused on the field of Industrial Hygiene and worked as the South Marmara Regional Sales Manager at the F&B department of Ecolab, the Regional Manager responsible for Export (MENA/COEE) and Key Accounts at the F&B department of Kersia and finally as the Turkey Sales Manager of the Food and Beverage Group at the German-based Calgonit Industrial. He actively provides freelance technical consultancy services to companies operating in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries on Industrial Hygiene and Sanitation. Biofilm Cleaning, Combating Pathogenic Microorganisms, Process Autopsy for Determination of Contamination Source, Food Safety and Chlorine Dioxide Applications are Uğurcan Kartal's primary areas of expertise and he has articles published nationally and internationally. He has been voluntarily supporting institutions and organizations by taking part in many projects at home and abroad for years to ensure that consumers have access to safe food. He is closely interested in Basketball, Athletics and Cinema. He speaks English and Turkish.
