Ahmed Mohamed

Ahmed Mohamed is a multidisciplinary development professional with more than 15 years of experience in peacebuilding, stabilization, private-sector development, investment promotion, skills development, youth empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods in Somalia.

He currently serves as Regional Coordinator at Shaqodoon Organization, where he leads complex programmes involving government institutions, development partners, private-sector actors, financial institutions, youth organizations, and local communities. He also serves as Senior Advisor at the Office of the Prime Minister, supporting the National Committee for Skills Development and Job Creation. In this role, he contributes to national coordination, policy development, and initiatives that align skills development with labour-market demand, private-sector growth, and employment creation.

Ahmed previously held senior roles at the Somalia Investment Promotion Office (SOMINVEST), supporting investment facilitation, value-chain development, investor engagement, policy advocacy, and efforts to strengthen Somalia’s investment ecosystem.

Throughout his career, he has led initiatives in environmental peacebuilding, community resilience, disaster-risk reduction, financial inclusion, enterprise development, and technology-enabled service delivery. His work combines digital solutions, market-driven approaches, and strategic partnerships to deliver inclusive and locally relevant results.

Ahmed holds Master’s degrees in Peace, Governance and Development and in Public Administration and Policy Making. He also completed a Postgraduate Mini-MBA Programme in Leadership through the European Institute of Leadership and Management. His professional certifications include Public–Private Partnerships, Human-Centered Design, and Project Management.
