Okechukwu Chukwuemeka

Okechukwu Chukwuemeka works around poverty through entrepreneurship coaching and teaching, enterprise mentoring and business advisory. Okechukwu is currently the Director of the Enterprise Development Centre and pioneer Director, of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development at Coal City University, Enugu Nigeria. Passionate about proactively fighting hopelessness, unemployment, and poverty among African youths by helping them develop an entrepreneurial mindset. He assists unemployed graduates to reclaim their lives, engage in startups and build viable businesses that create wealth and jobs thereby providing solutions to their personal and societal problems.
Okechukwu is also the Executive Director of the Institute of Growth & Development, IGD, Enugu, an organization that supports vulnerable women, youth and people living with disabilities in rural communities to develop and manage successful ventures. IGD is a partner CSO in the British Council implemented and European Union sponsored Agents for Citizen Transformation, EU-ACT programme in Enugu State
Okechukwu Chukwuemeka is a business development service provider (BDSP). He consults for the Enterprise Development Centre, Pan Atlantic University, EDC-PAU, in their EDC/MasterCard Transforming Nigerian Youths, TNY programme. He has equally consulted for several international organizations including the UNDP, UKAid, DfID, World Bank, Christian Aid, Amplify Change, etc.
Okechukwu served as a member of the 18-member National Expert Review Group on Entrepreneurship Studies set up by the National Universities Commission (NUC), which reviewed the Nigerian universities' Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards, BMAS to Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standard, CCMAS Entrepreneurship Studies curriculum, now in use in Nigerian universities. He was the pioneer Regional Head of the NUC-supported Directors of Entrepreneurship Centres in South East Nigeria universities. He also led Coal City University in the Lancaster University implemented, FCDO-sponsored, and NUC endorsed SSETS project where he was named a Top 3 Coordinator, FCDO-Lancaster University 2024 Project.
He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Management; a member of the Development Studies Association and a member of the Development Studies Professionals Association of Nigeria. He is a fellow of the Development Strategy Centre, DSC, Nigeria.
Okechukwu holds an M.Sc. (Dev. Studies), PGD (Psychology), and B.Sc Hons. (Business Management). He has banking, marketing, management, salesmanship, NGO management, and business consulting skills.
