Isaac Acevedo

Isaac Acevedo is a young Dominican entrepreneur and the founder of BÚSCATELA, a youth entrepreneurship and innovation platform that brings young people together around business, technology and personal growth.

He launched BÚSCATELA with its first event at Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE) in Santo Domingo, which gathered more than 700 young people. He built it with a small online audience, no prior event experience and no guaranteed budget. The event came together through institutional relationships, direct outreach and a clear message: young people are capable of building something real, and they don’t need permission to start.

Since then, he has expanded BÚSCATELA beyond a single event. He launched El Patio, a free online community for ambitious young people who are building something or want to start. He was also invited to an international workshop in Paraguay on strengthening the competitiveness of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, hosted by the Embassy of the United States, the Embassy of Taiwan and the Government of Paraguay, where he was the only Dominican participant.

He is currently leading EcoFounders 2026, a school-level environmental entrepreneurship competition in which high school students design business ideas that solve real environmental problems in the Dominican Republic. Each proposal must be environmentally effective and economically viable. The competition is developed with the participation of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and works with Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) and Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) entrepreneurship centers to support the winning team.

At Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026, Isaac speaks about the psychology of the entrepreneur: how fear, uncertainty, rejection and pressure shape our decisions, and what builders can do with them instead of letting them paralyze action. His talks are direct and honest, drawn from what he has lived while building from scratch.

Isaac’s mission is to create the spaces young Dominicans need to turn their ideas into reality.
