JA Romania

Since its foundation in 1993, Junior Achievement Romania (JAR) has been implementing programs for young people. JA Romania is part of Junior Achievement Worldwide, USA and JA Europe. Being part of one of the largest and most dynamic international organization developing economic and entrepreneurial education in 123 countries, JA Romania is focused on bringing business volunteers closer to young people. Through JA Romania programs, young people experience different social roles and practice skills and attitudes required in the real market Economy. JAR’s educational programs aim to offer knowledge and concrete information about the market Economy mechanisms, develop entrepreneurial skills and attitudes and encourage competitive spirit, quality and responsibility of young people across Romania. The practical modules in Applied Economics, Entrepreneurship, Financial Education, Skills for Employability, STEM and Health Education are complementary to the core curriculum in educational centers and build opportunities for a strong connection between education and world of work, intended to assure the success of young people in their career and life. All programs have been translated and adapted and are implemented according to the agreement signed with the Romanian Ministry of National Education. The organization focuses especially on: - Introducing JA programs as part of the formal curriculum, to ensure that young people are introduced to topics such as entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness; - Providing free access to materials and learning experiences in the field of entrepreneurship; - Driving education, training and youth sectors forward by training and developing teachers, trainers and youth workers as modern and motivated educators. The flagship JA Romania programs for specific age groups provide a full learning experience and meetings with entrepreneurs. These programs are implemented annually by teachers, trainers and youth workers who benefit from training, materials, curriculum, online support platform, Ministry of Education recognition of their activity and access to an international network of experts and opportunities.
