MR. JAYASEELAN NAIDOO
Jayaseelan Naidoo has joined Standard Bank in the capacity of Manager Change, Communications & Innovation – Group IT Architecture & Security. He has over 20 years of experience most of which has been in the Human Capital field and he has worked at most of the top tier financial services organisations in South Africa. Prior to him joining Standard Bank, he was the Executive Director for Da Vinci Design. He has experience in the fields of leadership development, training, skills development, curriculum development, strategic planning and implementation, entrepreneurship development, youth Development, enterprise development, commercialisation underpinned by innovation, Change and Communications, systems design and system Thinking, and creating capacity within the learning and development environment. He is also a guest lecturer and is a corporate facilitator. Currently pursuing his PhD “Systemic approach for SMME Development in South Africa”
He has been involved in the research projects for design of the national system of innovation, the SABS design framework, the reintegration of the funding programmes SPII and THRIP into the DTI. His areas of strength are stakeholder engagement as well as being able to operate at a leadership, management and functional level. His past roles have included a focus on skills development, administrative responsibilities of reporting to the relevant accreditation bodies, organizational behaviour, curriculum development, leadership development and fostering a learning and growth culture aligned to the strategic direction for organisations.
He has an MBA qualification; and is a registered member of the ETDP SETA as a Skills Development Facilitator and an assessor. He also holds a qualification in Human Resource Management from UNISA, a Certificate in Banking from the Institute of Bankers SA, a Diploma in Marketing from the Institute of Bankers SA, and Higher Certificate in Personnel and Training Management from Damelin. He is also a Certified Facilitator through DDI (Developments Dimensions International). He has held many leadership roles in major organizations such as University of Johannesburg, Bourse Africa, Deloitte, Absa, Standard Bank, FNB, Imperial Bank, Liberty Life and MX Health.
He is passionate about growing individuals and SMME’s as well as working closely with youth entrepreneurs. He is of the opinion that with the right level of coaching and mentoring as well as access to the right tools and funding mechanisms, entrepreneurship can strive in South Africa that will give rise to a sustainable SMME eco system.
