Jess Edwards is an accomplished Ecosystem Builder, recognized for strategic implementation of innovative concepts in emerging entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Currently serving as the Innovation Studio Director at Roanoke Blacksburg Innovation Alliance (RBIA) in Virginia, she's focused on creating new startup programs and streamlining existing services to support early-stage biotech and digital health startups. Her work reflects a commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration, as the Innovation Studio forms a critical part of a highly collaborative $25 million regional biotech cluster development initiative.

Before her current role, Jess Edwards was the Principal of the Dan River Region Entrepreneur Ecosystem in Southern Virginia, focusing on rural entrepreneurship and innovation with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Prior to her work in Virginia, Jess made significant strides as the Director of Outreach and Engagement for the Alaska Ocean Cluster Initiative, cultivating statewide partnerships and innovative programming to propel Alaska's ocean (blue) economy forward.

Early on, Ms. Edwards built and launched dig (design innovation garage) for the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, one of the first coworking spaces in Buffalo, New York. This innovative space served as a launchpad for fledgling entrepreneurs and underrepresented communities, providing them access to the tech and corporate sectors and playing an integral role in scaling Buffalo's startup community.

Her exceptional track record led to an international recruitment to build and launch NEST coworking space at TRYP by Wyndham Dubai, marking the inception of one of the world’s first fully integrated coworking spaces within a major internationally branded hotel.
