Silo Pack is an Agritech research-to-development innovation group, working with a wide spectrum of industry actors to generate evidences to strengthen product Research and Development (R&D), within the arid and semi-arid dairy feeding producer communities in East Africa. The group’s priority activity is to engage with smallholder producer farmers, dairy farmer cooperatives, community-based Agri-school farms, and owners of policy to enhance Climate Action activities along the dairy feed value chain. The group seeks to participate in bridging the communication gap between science and society which has slowed the flow in which research outputs are transitioned into useful products for use by communities. In the African context for instance, misinformation, aggressive activism, unfavorable policies and regulations have seen the continent lag behind in matters climate change adaptation, mitigation, sustainability, and people empowerment.

It is against this backdrop, we founded Silo Pack Innovation Group to facilitate climate business linkages between smallholder producer communities and the premier institutions of science, research and innovation. The group is composed of a multidisciplinary Research-to-Development (R&D) Team, with its headquarters on the 2nd floor of the Chandaria Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (CBIIC), Kenyatta University. The initiative has also partnered with community lead-farmers to establish satellite offices across lower eastern semi-arid counties in Kenya. Silo Pack Innovation Team is affiliated to Chandaria Business Innovation and Incubation Centre (CBIIC), Kenyatta University, Kenya.

The group innovation portfolio is comprised of numerous research & development Mentions, Awards, and Certifications accruing from participations in various science and research communication symposiums globally. The group innovation work is pointed at the following 5 SDGs, complete with a Tree Growing component as priority thematic areas of action:

Tree Planting to increase forest cover by planting and growing a record 15bn trees in 10 years In line with the ACS.
