Jaime Morales
An economic development expert with extensive leadership experience in business associations, local governments, and nonprofits, particularly in Puerto Rico. He has a strong background in strategic planning, project management, and fostering regional economic growth.
Currently, as the Managing Director of the Rising Entrepreneurs Program at the Bravo Family Foundation, he leads efforts to support innovative entrepreneurs in Western Puerto Rico. Previously, as a Business Consultant with JMC & Associates, he secured $2.1 million in grants and managed resilience projects post-Hurricane Maria. As City Manager and Economic Development Officer for the City of Cabo Rojo, he promoted local economic initiatives and managed strategic planning and operations.
In earlier roles, he served as Executive Vice-President of the Asociación Productos de PR, where he led operations promoting Puerto Rican products and recruited 218 new members. As Project Manager at PRTEC, he coordinated regional economic development initiatives and managed a $700K grant. His tenure with the City of Caguas included securing over $240 million in investments and supporting local business growth. Additionally, he contributed to policy implementation as Deputy Secretary at the Department of Economic Development and Commerce for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. He also worked with the Community Reinvestment Act as an Assistant Compliance Officer at Banco Popular de Puerto Rico.
He holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez and an MA in Urban and Regional Affairs from the University of Texas at Arlington. Honors include certification as an Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), US Department of Commerce District Export Council of Puerto Rico membership, and International Economic Development Council (IEDC) recognition. He was an Urban Fellow with the North Central Texas Council of Governments and holds several board memberships. He is dedicated to driving economic development and entrepreneurship in Puerto Rico.
