John Erickson

John Erickson is a leadership development specialist dedicated to helping business leaders thrive both professionally and personally through heart-first leadership. As a Convene Advisory Board Chair in Central Indiana and co-founder of Eden Business Concepts, John combines strategic insight with practical tools to transform organizations.
With a foundation in electrical engineering from Purdue University (BSEE, '83), John's career began with the US Navy and State Department, where he developed security protocols for American embassies worldwide. Living in Kenya and Israel while traveling extensively across four continents gave him a global perspective that continues to inform his leadership approach.
John later earned his doctorate in Practical Theology from Trinity International University, creating a unique bridge between technical expertise and human understanding. His book, "Three Paths out of Paradise," explores a central principle in his work: "You will either flounder or flourish in every relationship depending on how well you know your own heart." He also has books in the publication process that focus on navigating personal and organizational conflicts, and his perspective on mentoring the next generation of leaders.
Since 2005, John has expanded his leadership development work to Eastern Europe, establishing two Christian leadership institutes in Croatia that serve the broader Balkan region. These cross-cultural experiences reinforce his belief that effective leadership transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.
Today, alongside his business partners Dennis Humphrey and Dave Seligsohn at Eden Business Concepts, John focuses on "Innovating Workplaces that Thrive." Their approach helps organizations become both "smart and healthy" through strategic advising, conflict resolution, and leadership development.
