John Launius

John T. Launius - As Vice President of Economic Development at One Southern Indiana (1si), John leads business attraction, retention, and expansion efforts as the authorized Local Economic Development Organization (LEDO) for Clark, Floyd, and Scott County. With over 15 years of community and economic development experience, he has helped facilitate over $3B in capital investments and nearly 5,000 job announcements into the region. John joined 1si in late 2022 from Ivy Tech Community College where he led the campus’s workforce services and foundation office. John previously led the Greater Louisville Regional Partnership as Director of Regional Economic Development at GLI and served as a Director on Volunteers of America Mid-State's External Relations Team. John currently serves on the Indiana Economic Development Association (IEDA) Board and was past Board Chair of the Transit Authority of River City (TARC). John has been recognized by Louisville Business First as "People to Know" in Economic Development and was recently named Top 50 Economic Developers in North America by Consultant Connect. John earned his undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University and graduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, Mendoza College of Business. He lives in New Albany, Indiana with his wife, Carly, and two children, Lucy (6) and Gray (4).
